Haunted Victorian Ghost Walk
PLATTSMOUTH, NE –The Plattsmouth Conservancy Inc. is the host of the 2010 Haunted Victorian Ghost Walk. The event will be held in Plattsmouth on Friday, October 22, and Saturday, October 23, 2010. The walk will start at 7:30p.m. each evening and conclude at 10:00 p.m.
Step back in time and visit historical homes and buildings nestled within the haunted hills of Plattsmouth.
Follow the night watchman to each location to experience a chilling evening of frightful ghost stories from present day and years gone by.
Guests will travel by foot with lantern carriers to three historic homes and the historic Cass County Court House under the care of the night watchman. Along the way story tellers will tell true ghost stories from the local Plattsmouth area.
Guests will also have the opportunity to step inside the historic homes and courthouse and listen to Victorian Ghost Stories and Nebraska Ghost stories portrayed by a cast of actors in Victorian period attire.
Following the walking tour all guests are invited to meet at the Historic Plattsmouth Public Library for light refreshments and a viewing of the silent movie “Dracula”.
This is not your typical “Haunted House” event. There will be no skeletons popping out at you or giant spiders dropping down on you. But.. perhaps you will catch a glimpse of a ghostly spirit who chooses to make their presence known at this time of year when the veil between our world and the spirit world is most easily penetrated.
Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at “Antiques Off Main”, 125 South 5th Street, Plattsmouth, Nebraska. They can also be purchased through the mail by contacting Leigh Jean Koinzan at the contact information above. Advanced reservations are required.

Dear Louisvillians,
EXCITEMENT is definitely in the air during these unseasonably warm autumn days of October! There are some major events taking place in the town of Louisville that are worth noting!
First, did you hear about the Cass County Central Crush??!! The softball team is headed to the state tournament this Wednesday in Hastings after an outstanding season and final district performance this past weekend! Congratulations to these young ladies on all of their efforts, time, perseverance and winning attitudes throughout the season! Best of luck to you at the state tournament! We'll all be cheering you on to victory! What a fabulous accomplishment...one that takes the dedication of parents, coaches, teachers, community members and of course, the athlete. We are very proud of all of you! Represent your communities well!
Second, did you know that we are about to be invaded by the scarecrows on Main Street this Friday? Those scary (or not so scary) scarecrows will be adorning our Main Street this autumn, creating a festive fall atmosphere for all to enjoy. Be sure to take note of your favorites and let those folks who participated know that they did a nice job in preparing such decorations! What an awesome autumn tradition...enjoy them while they're up!
Third, well, I'm sure you have your own "third" thing to add. For me, I love the season of autumn, so enjoying a scenic drive, gazing at the glorious pallet of colors is excitement that is good enough for me. Take a moment to enjoy these crisp autumn evenings and warm autumn sunshine as the leaves make their descent to the ground and our world prepares for another winter.
Have a wonderful week, Louisvillians!
