Louisville Baseball

The Louisville Legion Post 353 JRs competed in the Class C Area 3 tournament held in West Point as the # 6 seed. The boys played 7 games over the course of July 13-18, and in that stretch, finished as the Runner-up. They started off the tournament with a 15-9 win over #3 seed North Bend\Morse Bluff. Following a 4-1 loss to #2 seed Logan View, they came back with a 4-2 over #5 seed West Point. The bats really came alive with a 10-0 win over #4 seed Waterloo\Valley and then avenged their loss with a 16-0 win over Logan View. This set up a match with top seeded Dodge\Scribner\Howells, who had come in to the tournament without a single loss on the season. Playing a near flawless game the team beat DHS with a 4-2 score. This set up a second game with DHS, ultimately losing a hard fought game with a score of 9-5. The team finished the season with a record of 16-11. You young men played your hearts out and represented your town and yourselves with class. Great job, guys!

Art Chicks is having an old fashioned dessert festival this Sunday from 9-3 to celebrate the Last Hot Sunday in July Car Show. Stop by our huge flea market that will be spilling into the garden. Coope deVille has the whole second floor of Havenmakers building full of bargains! Also, enjoy a home made dessert with tea for only $5.00. Lunch will be available as well. The featured menu is Tropical Chicken Salad on Croissant, Strawberry Almond Salad with Mad Mango Tea. Lunch is $10.00 with dessert added-just $12.00 Come enjoy the air conditioning and blocks of shopping and cook cars.
