Auditions at Lofte Theatre

The Lofte Theatre in Manley is holding open auditions on Monday, September 10 and Tuesday, September 11 at 7pm for their fall farce, "Whose Wives Are They Anyway?"  Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  No preparation is necessary.  Those with all levels of acting experience are welcome to attend.  Roles are available for four men and four women ages 20-65.  Rehearsals will start at the end of September.  Performance dates are Oct 20, 21, 26-28 and Nov 1-4.

The plot of the script revolves around two company executives who have planned a weekend of golf before their new C.E.O. arrives.  While their wives are off on a shopping spree, the new boss arrives who insists upon meeting them.  The men find substitute wives, but as in any classic farce, nothing ever goes as planned and mistaken identities abound.

Those with questions about the audition process or the production itself may contact Lofte Artistic Director, Kevin Colbert at  402.234.2553

Johnson puts on a different hat for each medley of songs.
For songs like “Singing in the Rain” and “Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head,” she wears a rain hat she found in her closet. And when she sings “Choo Choo Ch'Boogie,” “I've Been Working on the Railroad” and “This Train Is Bound for Glory,” it is in an engineer's striped hat.
Johnson encourages the audience to sing along and clap to the beat when they feel like it.

Fish-A-Thon-2012

Think you can fish 24 Hours straight on September 7 & 8, 2012? We think you can, too!

The Recycled Fish 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon is anglers fishing around the clock and around the country to raise awareness for the problems facing our fisheries, and money to help solve those problems.
Our lakes, streams and seas are in trouble. It is the result of many things, from over-consuming water to over-harvest of fish to pollution to invasive species. Many of the main issues come from problems in our broader environment because “Our Lifestyle Runs Downstream.”
Anglers – people who love to fish – are the first to notice, because we spend time on the water observing our surroundings. Problems in our environment often show up first in our waters – it all runs downstream. We’re doing something about it with the 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon.
We’re standing up as not just users of our natural resources, but as stewards. We’re raising the flag for simple things anybody can do to ensure healthy waters for fish and wildlife – and for each of us.
