Louisville Kindergarten Round-Up 2013

Louisville Public Schools will host its annual Kindergarten Round-Up Parent meeting Thursday, March 21 at 7:00 pm in the elementary computer lab and Kindergarten Round-Up on Friday, March 22 in the kindergarten rooms. All children who will be five years of age on or before July 31, 2013 are eligible for enrollment in kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year.

Letters about the orientation and round-up were sent out to all parents of children who are presently recorded on the school census as being old enough to enter kindergarten in August. If anyone in the community is aware of any parents who have children who will be entering kindergarten, are new to the district or who did not receive letter are encouraged to contact the Louisville Elementary office at 234-4215.

The Louisville Senior Center (423 Elm) is pleased to announce an afternoon of entertainment featuring the talented Johnny Ray Gomez accordion and vocal entertainer. The show is open to the public and starts at 1:00 on Wednesday, April 3rd. There is no charge for the show but donations will be accepted. If you are a senior over 60 and wish to have lunch before the show...call Evelyn (402-234-2120)BEFORE 1:00 on the preceding TUESDAY (April 2nd) to order your meal

Louisville Awareness Slogan Contest

Continues till April 15th

Winners to be named by May 1st

Thank you to all who submitted an entry into the Louisville Awareness Slogan Contest. The BUILD committee was overwhelmed by the response. After reviewing the 210 entries and forming a subcommittee to help select a winner, we realized we had failed to provide proper direction.

From the start of this process, we envisioned a new slogan for Louisville that local businesses could use in their advertising to help create greater awareness of the close proximity of the town in relation to the metropolitan areas to the northeast and southwest. Reflecting back to the beginning of the contest and judging by entries received, we don’t believe we made this focus very clear.

We have decided to reopen the contest for new entries that emphasize our location (in proximity to Omaha & Lincoln) and opportunity in Louisville. We’re looking for a slogan that tells everyone where we are and what makes us a unique community. We will accept new slogans through April 15th, 2013. We hope to have a new, flashy slogan and award the winners by May 1st. Please email all slogan entries to Louisvillebuild@gmail.com

All slogan entries received to this point are still in consideration to be chosen and awarded one of the three prizes. We just didn’t feel right about selecting a winner when only 10 – 15% of the entries were focused on the criteria we are looking for. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Here are some clarifications on rules:

Question: now with the additional clarification, are previous entrants allowed to re-submit additional suggestion for consideration? Yes
Meaning: participant will have 2 entries under consideration if additional entry has been submitted

Everyone may submit an entry, it does not matter if you have submitted previously or not. Still one prize per person/household.

The committee reserves the right to “modify” or “change” wording if necessary.

Animals Available for Adoption

at the Plattsmouth Animal Shelter

Plattsmouth Animal Shelter is happy to announce that

we are now staffed 9am to noon Monday through Friday.

Appointments are still needed for any other times.

Adoption fee on all animals is $60.

This includes spay/neuter and vaccinations.

Microchips are an additional $25 (well worth it).

Adult Cats are always a free adoption to Senior Citizens!
