Louisville Public Schools Update

Submitted by Mr. Greg Shepard

The Louisville Board of Education met on Monday, April 15 to discuss the district’s technology plan and the purchase of 200 new lap top computers for student use.  The district plans to purchase new Lap Top Computers for all high school students in accordance with their current technology plan.  Previously purchased Lap Tops will be used to re-new computer labs and to provide technology for Middle School Students.  Board Members discussed equipment and district purchase plans.  If the district is to have new equipment for student use in the fall, they will need to approve the $280,000 purchase prior to May 1st.  In anticipation of this purchase, the district has already saved $185,000 in their depreciation account.  If approved, the rest of the funds will come from current General Fund Money.
