Earlier this month, the American Red Cross issued an emergency request for blood and platelet donations.
While thousands have responded, at times, donations continue to be delivered to
hospitals faster than they are coming in and a critical blood shortage still exists.
The attached news release provides additional details about why donors are
still urgently needed to give now, how the community can help
and a special thank-you offer of a $5 Amazon.com gift
card claim for those coming to donate. Upcoming area blood drives are also included for your reference.
By sharing the urgency of this situation, you can help make
sure that patient blood needs continue to be met this summer.
