Storm Rips Up Cass and South Sarpy Counties
Plattsmouth Mayor Paul Lambert said he declared Plattsmouth a disaster area following the storm,
which hit the town at about 8:15 p.m. June 17 according to the Plattsmouth Journal - Click Here for the Full Article
----------------------------
The City of Plattsmouth met this morning with Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) officials to discuss disaster declaration and state/federal assistance. NEMA and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs are primarily for public (governmental) infrastructure recovery. However, through NEMA, there may be sufficient storm damage/losses to submit a Small Business Administration (SBA) application to cover uninsured business losses.
The Storm Damage Situation is Now under the Control of the:
Cass County Emergency Management Agency

Read About Other Communities Using Municipal Alerts
Big Weekend for Municipal Alerts
We were fortunate that Communities like Eagle, Elmwood and especially
Greenwood - had Community Wide Alerts in place - Friday through Sunday until
The Power was restored, Alerts were there to keep the Community informed. Alerts do not
require that the power grid works, as was handy in Greenwood to notify people that Bottled water and
oxygen tanks for seniors and people depepndant on Power for Oxygen and
airconditioning was available at the Fire Hall - Anxiety is less, when you know what is happening.

Bring Your Roadster to the Lofte
Starting at 5pm, those who wish to show-off their classic automobiles are invited to park in a specially designated place on the Northeast side of the theater. An outdoor beer garden will be open from 5-7pm. Visitors are welcome to enjoy an adult beverage with their friends while taking in the sights of vintage cars. This is not a formal car show by any means, but simply an opportunity to cruise to the Lofte and show off your car to the neighbors.
At 7pm, the best Beatles tribute band in Omaha, "Come Together," will take the stage. With three-part vocals and instruments, they recreate the best of the Beatles songbook. Tickets to the event are $20 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. No prior registration is necessary for classic cars. The Lofte is located just east of the town of Manley, just a couple of miles from the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 50 in Cass County. Those wishing to purchase advance tickets may call the Lofte at (402) 234-2553 or visit Lofte.org.

This is the 8 year anniversary of the 3 kids that died in Southbend - which stunned and traumatized the Community.
The event was so traumatic it is forever referred to simply as 6/20.
